M41B Brazilian Bulldog limited release kicks off during Brazil Game Show

October 8, 2015 — Wargaming introduces the very first Brazilian-themed hero tank in the free-to-play smash hit World of Tanks on Xbox One and Xbox 360. The release of the Tier VIII M41B Brazilian Bulldog or “M41B Pracinha” aligns with Wargaming’s presence at Brazil Game Show and will be offered globally beginning today through October 23.

The M41B “Pracinha” name is a reference to the members of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) who participated in major battles during World War II such as the Battle of Monte Castello. This patriotic tank features a special Brazilian fighting force emblem, the smoking snake. This emblem pays homage to the historical FEB rallying cry. This agile and quick high-tier US light tank features a wholly custom camouflage and excels at locating and evading the enemy. Of course, Pracinha also proudly and prominently displays the Brazilian flag.

Golden Armor

The website Golden Armor has an impressive display of prop replica helmets based on SciFi properties, including Star Wars, Alien, and Starship Troopers. Unfortunately, these pieces aren’t for sale, as they’re one-off models. However, they are offering a Korban Dallas Multi Pass in their ‘For Sale’ section, so not all is lost.

Far Cry Primal

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015

Far Cry Primal is a Stone Age-set take on the Far Cry series, trading in the contemporary setting, weapons, and animals of the previous games and replacing them with a post Ice Age world, bows and spears, and woolly mammoths. Kinda seems like it would be better as a Blood Dragon-esque expansion rather than a full game, but only time will tell.

Far Cry Primal drops February 23, 2016.

Doominator

The Doominator is the latest blaster from NERF’s Zombie Strike line. A beast of a blaster, the Doominator features 4 flipping drums which are manually switched via the two-finger lever underneath the trigger guard. Each drum holds 6 darts, for a total of 24 darts when fully loaded. It’s a pump-action blaster; it comes with a grip that can screw into the 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock positions of the action to make cycling easier.

Dazzle It App

Thursday, October 1st, 2015

IMG_4127

You may be wondering why we’re covering a mobile device app inspired by and featuring the recent work of Sir Peter Blake, celebrated pop artist. Well, it all has to do with a bit of history in the application of camouflage.

320px-USS_West_Mahomet_(ID-3681)_cropped

This is an image of the USS West Mahomet, painted in Dazzle camouflage, which involves complex patterns of geometric shapes in contrasting colors, interrupting and intersecting each other. It was used by the British and United States principally during WWI, and was designed to make it difficult for enemy vessels to estimate a ship’s range, speed, and heading.

The Dazzle It app allows users to ‘Dazzle’ any image available on their phone, or taken by their camera, by putting it through any one of various filters. This new camouflage pattern can then be applied to a variety of virtual ships and other watercraft which displays as a 3D model. As you can see in the images, we decided to go a bit more contemporary, utilizing a MultiCam base and putting it through a ‘Kaleidoscope’ pattern.

We then applied this pattern to various ships, including the HMS President.

FullSizeRender

There’s even an augmented reality aspect of the app, which allows you to anchor the ship of your choosing to a live background. We found this to be a little wonky in practice, but that might have something to do with trying to place a camouflaged ship on a camouflage background.

The Dazzle It app is available through both iTunes and the Google Play store for free.
