GAEMS Rail System – Satellite Stand

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

rail_sat_box_contents_front

GAEMS has basically taken a Picatinny quad rail and turned it into a mounting stand for their line of gaming monitors, and other gaming and electronic accessories. Honestly, it’s a pretty decent idea, given how functionally beneficial Picatinny rails have been for firearms, plus the hollow channel serves as a great method for cable management. There’s no word on whether it’s actually built to M1913 standard (my guess is no), but it is made of aluminum with an anodized black finish, so it’s possible it’s built to similar quality standards. Also, now I’m tempted to try and make my own stand out of an M-LOK forend, or even better KeyMod; there’s bound to be some easily-adaptable shelving units that are already compatible with it.

The GAEMS Rail System comes out July 25th.

Empty Shell, LLC – XM556 Microgun

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

static1.squarespace.com

The XM556 Microgun is a weapon currently under development by Texas-based company Empty Shell, LLC. The XM556 Microgun is designed as a defensive suppression weapon chambered for the 5.56mm NATO cartridge, and is based in concept and design on the M134 gatling gun system. Profile pictures on Empty Shell’s website show the XM556 Microgun as being shorter in length than a carbine-length AR-15 and even a PS90, so if anything else, it has a pretty compact profile going for it.

Stay tuned for more info on this weapon as it becomes available.

Boston Dynamics – SpotMini

Friday, June 24th, 2016

Boston Dynamics has further cemented the eventuality that they’re the Cyberdyne Systems of the real world with the SpotMini. Soon these things will be wearing camouflage overlays that make them virtually-indistinguishable from real dogs, and they’ll serve as the perfect surprise attack wave of the eventual AI takeover.

Titanfall 2 Gameplay

Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

Some b-roll of the footage from the E3 trailer for Titanfall 2 has surfaced, mixed in with a bit of never-before-seen gameplay. It looks like an improvement over the first one, which was, in all honesty, a pretty fun game. I’m pretty eager about this one.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Trailer

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016

Tom Cruise may be too short to accurately play Jack Reacher (as described in the novels), but he was badass in the first film, and I bet he’ll be badass in this one.

Operator Franklin

Images of US currency altered to make Alexander Hamilton, Ulysses S. Grant, and Benjamin Franklin into bonafide, pipehitting oper8ors have surfaced on the interwebz recently. They are the work of Sergiy Lysenko of Beserker Airsoft, who is clearly a very talented individual when it comes to defacing legal US tender.

Deluxe Edition Bluetooth Pip-Boy

Monday, June 13th, 2016

iuso_fallout_4_bluetooth_pipboy

So you missed out on your chance to get one of the very limited Pip-Boy editions of Fallout 4 when they came out, but you really wanted one, and by “one”, I mean a wearable Pip-Boy that doubled as an iPhone case. Well, a while ago, ThinkGeek announced that they had the exclusive rights to sell future replicas of the Pip-Boy, and they’re finally delivering on that license, with the upcoming Deluxe Edition Bluetooth Pip-Boy.

It’s worth noting that this Pip-Boy isn’t a glorified phone case like the one that came with the game is, but is actually a self-contained unit with a functioning “Cosplay mode” with status, special, and perks screens; an alarm clock function; and SMS messaging, phone, and audio streaming when connected via Bluetooth to your phone.

The Deluxe Pip-Boy is poised to release November of this year, and has a listed price of $350.

Black Panther Warrior Pack

Friday, June 10th, 2016

pTRU1-23180228enh-z6

As part of the massive line of ‘Civil War’ toys and memorabilia, Hasbro released the Black Panther Warrior Pack, a costume set which consists of a Black Panther mask and gloves. We’ve played with them a bit, and although the set make you look pretty darn cool (as one of the Three Amigos as pictured below will show you), it doesn’t allow you to effortless fight with sweet acrobatic moves, nor do the gloves make large gashes in nigh-indestructible metals.

Cabot Guns – Meteorite Pistols

Wednesday, June 8th, 2016

Cabot Guns’ Big Bang Pistol Set, also known as the Meteorite Pistols (insert some play on words about ‘Space-Age Materials’) are a unique set of two 1911s. They were made from an iron-nickel alloy obtained from a meteorite that crashed into what is now Gibeon, Namibia, billions of years ago. Reportedly, the pistols are valued at approximately $5 million, although it remains to be seen wether anyone is willing to pay that much for them.

You can find out more about the pistols at cabotgun.com
