The Quad Mat provides an extra comfortable platform and stable base for elbows and knees and when folded, measures just 2.5” X 19” X 29.” The recently released Bench and Field Shooting Mat was another customer inspired product. No word on the length of time it took to build this beast, but a conservative estimate of its cost, based on LEGO’s current pricing on various bricks, puts this build at ~$800-1000, if the pieces were bought individually.

Crowdfunding has become so mainstream and ubiquitous that even larger companies have started to take advantage of it to offer unique and limited products to people willing to put money up to see those products realized. Such is the case with Hasbro and HasLab, “[their] new crowdsourcing platform that hopes to bring dream products into the hands of fans.” In this case, HasLab is being used to offer The Khetanna, Jabba the Hutt’s Sail Barge from ‘Return of the Jedi’, under the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Line. The Khetanna as designed will come in at roughly 49″ long, 14.5″ wide, and 17″ tall, with a total weight of 13.89 lbs. It features a highly-detailed interior and exterior with soft cloth sails, and is sized for 3.75″ scale figures, and even comes with a Jabba the Hutt figure. The Khetanna will come in premium deco, vintage packaging, and a 64-page booklet detailing the design and development of both the actual film set piece and the toy itself will be offered to backers.
Under the HasLab campaign, they are requiring at least 5000 backers, each of whom have to pony up $500 to secure a barge and booklet for themselves. They’re definitely appealing to the serious collector market and nostalgia for this one.

Colonial Williamsburg Expands On-site Amenities for Military Guests as Liberty Lounge Welcomes its 100,000th Visitor

(Feb. 12, 2018) – Colonial Williamsburg’s Liberty Lounge, a complimentary space for ticketed military guests to relax and recharge in the Historic Area, welcomed its 100,000th visitor Feb. 3. The milestone comes less than two years since the lounge first opened its doors May 26, 2016.
Part of a broad military outreach initiative led by Elisabeth Reiss, wife of Colonial Williamsburg President and CEO Mitchell B. Reiss, the Liberty Lounge is staffed full-time by 63 Foundation volunteers with more than 435 years of collective service in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.
The donor-funded lounge, located in the Margaret Hunter Workshop just off Duke of Gloucester Street, offers amenities such as hot and cold beverages, wireless Internet access and a children’s area, and showcases vintage military memorabilia from Foundation collections.
“It was a dream of mine to create a special space for our military guests and their families to recharge while visiting Colonial Williamsburg,” said Elisabeth Reiss. “We could never have anticipated the overwhelming support the Lounge has received from guests and the community, and we are grateful to our volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors for making it all possible.”
Elisabeth Reiss added that the Liberty Lounge assists volunteers and staff with communicating the year-round military discounts and offerings available to Colonial Williamsburg guests, including complimentary and discount admission through the Honoring Service to America program, sponsored by the Home Depot Foundation, and discounts on Colonial Williamsburg hotels, food and beverage, military retreats, golf and spa services.

Starting with the MOD 1-M line (replacing the MK1 MOD 1-P line) with M-LOK handguards and Radian Raptor charging handles. Keeping the internals the same, the MK1 MOD 1-M line got a simple facelift. To match that, the MK2 MOD 1-M line also got M-LOK handguards and Radian Raptor charging handles.
Past the more expected updates, we take a look at the MK1 MOD 2-M line which replaces the MK1 MOD 2 line. The MK1 MOD 2-M line features not just an M-LOK handguard, but their patent pending PicLok handguard. Yes, it offers M-LOK along the entire length of the handguard, but also offers Picatinny in the front quarter of the rail. What sets the PWS MK1 MOD 2-M handguards apart, is the fact that M-LOK accessories direct thread into the handguard, meaning you don’t use the back T-nut of the accessory. This allows the shooter’s rail to truly stay as slim as possible while still offering a variety of mounting options. In addition to the PicLok handguard, the MK1 MOD 2-M line includes the Radian Raptor charging handle and Radian Talon safety selector.
For PWS customers wanting to do a quick handguard swap, we have good news! Handguards will be available as standalone items, so you can easily swap your current PicMod to PicLok.
The ALPHA line of rifles, easily differentiated by the FDE anodizing, was designed specifically for military use, but will be available for civilians. A few features of the ALPHA line are the heavier barrel profile, 1:7 barrel twist rate and gas adjustment knob in front of the handguard.
The last big release from PWS was the new PCC line in 9mm. Using a straight blowback system, taking GLOCK mags and having last round bolt hold open, PWS expects the PCC line to be a popular addition to their current offerings.
