Top JROTC Teams Choose Crosman Challenger This Weekend

Bloomfield, NY – Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTC Cadets descend upon Camp Perry, Ohio this weekend (23-24 March 2018) to participate in the 2018 All Service JROTC National Championship. The top teams from all branches will be represented by Cadets in the two-day event, Twenty-eight teams and thirty-two individual qualifiers in the sporter class and seventeen teams and seventeen individuals in the precision class have been invited to participate, for a total of 144 sporter shooters and 85 precision shooters.

“For the past several years I’ve had the honor and privilege to work with the JROTC instructors and their cadets.” said Mark DeBoard, Shooting Services Manager for Crosman. “Shooting sports is a mentally tough sport that requires complete concentration, the ability to overcome an errant shot, and the discipline to repeat the good ones. It requires the self-discipline and mental toughness that will accompany these Cadets for life’s journey.”

Participants will compete in sporter or precision classes, taking shots from the prone, kneeling and standing positions. Precision air rifle competition is modeled after Olympic-style shooting with shooters using specialized target rifles and equipment. sporter air rifle is for competitors who prefer to compete with little customization or specialized equipment.

As the primary supplier of sporter class rifles to the Army and Marine Corps JROTC, many of the cadets will be competing with the Crosman Challenger sporter class rifle.
