Umarex – REKT OpFour CO2 Powered Dart Rifle

Tuesday, August 4th, 2020

The REKT OpFour Dart Rifle from Umarex is fairly unique when compared to other dart blasters, since it uses two 12 gram CO2 cartridges to propel its darts, rather than a spring like many of its contemporaries. Modeled after an AR-15, the Dart Blaster features similar furniture, with a collapsible stock, A2-style grip, functioning irons, and a Knights-style foregrip that also serves as the pump-action charging handle. The Dart Blaster comes with a 12-round magazine that feeds REKT foam darts; the magazine looks vaguely like a NERF N-Strike mag, and the darts themselves are supposed to work with a variety of dart blasters.

True to its name, the REKT OpFour series dart guns come in two colors – red and blue, much like NERF’s Rival series – for team play; or, if you prefer one color over the other.

NEW Umarex Fusion 2 Sends 9 Rounds in Silence

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

FORT SMITH, AR (March 13, 2020) – Umarex USA continues blazing the path to deliver innovation, adventure and performance at an attractive price with the new Umarex Fusion 2 CO2 powered bolt action air rifle. The original Umarex Fusion pellet rifle was a CO2 powered bolt action design that was very popular for backyard plinking and quiet pest control. Umarex has carried over the best aspects of the original Umarex Fusion and added to it a re-designed SilencAir muzzle device, a nine-shot rotary magazine, a flexible CO2 power system, and an all-new stock design.

The original Umarex Fusion was popular because of its accuracy, quietness, and compact design. These three elements remain the bedrock to which Umarex began their revamp of this classic rifle. The first thing shooters will notice about the Umarex Fusion 2 is how quiet it is. Umarex re-worked the SilencAir for better performance and a bold look. Shooters will notice the impact of the pellet on the target as louder than the muzzle report.

The repeater revolution that began in the pre-charged pneumatic category is finding a home in other rifle based platforms as well. The Umarex Fusion 2 proudly features one of the best designed rotary magazines in the industry. The Fusion 2 magazine is extremely easy to load and holds nine .177 caliber pellets. To load the magazine, insert a pellet into the first open space in the cylinder and rotate the magazine cylinder counter-clockwise. The magazine will hold on the last pellet seated, therefore the shooter doesn’t need to worry about the magazine getting out of sync. Umarex Fusion 2 magazines also feature a last shot indicator to help prevent dry-firing.

The original Umarex Fusion was powered by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges and that is still true of the Fusion 2, but with a twist: the Umarex Fusion 2 uses a removable 12-gram CO2 adapter that can be set aside if the shooter wants to use a single 88-gram CO2 cartridge. The Fusion 2 offers shooters the best of both worlds in powering convenience. Shorter shooting sessions can be done with economical 12-gram cartridges or a longer shooting session can be powered with a single 88-gram cartridge. Shooters can expect around 70 shots from a pair of 12-gram CO2 cartridges and around 250 with a single 88-gram cartridge.

While these big changes are offering shooters quite the bang for their buck, it must also be stated that the Umarex Fusion 2 comes with a 4X32 scope which mounts to an integral Picatinny style rail. The Fusion 2’s ergonomic stock has grip serrations on the fore-end and a raised cheekpiece that make getting a solid cheek weld a piece of cake for just about any shooter. The Umarex Fusion 2 also has a manual safety that is recessed into the stock just above the trigger on the right side. This oversized lever has a 90-degree throw for positive engagement and disengagement of the safety. The recessed positioning also means the safety is protected from accidental disengagement.

At the end of the day, Umarex wants shooters to find an air rifle that works for them. The Umarex Fusion 2 is an air rifle that will compel the whole family to get together and put in some valuable trigger and family time. The Umarex Fusion 2 is just one more rifle in the Umarex Airguns catalog that steps into that role with an impressive host of features and an MSRP of only $139.99.

NRA, Pyramyd Air Launch New Range in a Box

Tuesday, January 29th, 2019

FAIRFAX, Va. – The National Rifle Association and Pyramyd Air are excited to announce the launch of a new Range in a Box for 2019. The Range in a Box program presented by Pyramyd Air provides temporary air gun ranges to approved clubs and organizations free of charge to facilitate basic firearm safety training and “fun shoot” types of events for people with disabilities.

The Range in a Box provides nearly everything needed to set up a temporary air gun range, including air rifles, air pistols, the portable range, rifle rests and reactive targets. The key components are: seven T-200 Sporter Rifles; three Air Venturi Pistols; one large (8 feet wide by 24 feet long) portable range from Crosman; three Ultimate Tripod rifle rests from McFadden Machine Company; and various reactive target systems from Pyramyd Air. Shipping to and from the event location is also provided at no cost to the user. Consumable materials such as air and tanks, pellets and paper targets are not included.

This resource is intended for use by any organization planning an event to include people with disabilities—the most common participants being veterans’ groups, rehabilitation facilities and gun clubs. To get started, a representative of the group must contact the NRA Adaptive Shooting Program at adaptiveshooting@nrahq.org or visit adaptiveshooting.nrahq.org to print the application and user agreement. Each organization may use the Range in a Box two times to establish the viability of such an event and is then encouraged to apply for grants through The NRA Foundation to purchase its own equipment.

The NRA Adaptive Shooting Program strives to remove barriers that prevent interested groups from hosting more events for people with disabilities by merging the resources of industry partners such as Pyramyd Air with the commitment of the community to spread firearm safety training to a very deserving segment of the population. For more information, visit adaptiveshooting.nrahq.org.

HatsanUSA, Inc. Launches New Vectis Airgun at SHOT Show

Monday, January 21st, 2019

The Vectis airgun brings modern sporting features to the classic lever-action.

Bentonville, AR (January, 21 2019) – Providing a modern take on an old classic, Hatsan’s new Vectis is a unique, lever-action, Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) airgun. Reminiscent of a lever-action cowboy rifle, the Vectis is capable of delivering up to 35 shots on a single fill, making it easy to empty a tin of pellets in no time.

Based on the Flash platform, the Vectis maintains the same lightweight characteristics. Weighing 7 lbs., the Vectis features a one-piece receiver and a sturdy, synthetic-polymer QuietEnergy barrel shroud that protects the barrel and dampens noise up to 50%. The airgun’s 165cc fixed-air cylinder is constructed from lightweight, strong aluminum alloy. A combo optics rail is machined into the receiver and continues down the length of the barrel shroud to provide shooters with 17 inches of uninterrupted rail space. The Vectis is capable of accepting both 11mm and 22mm mounts.

Just like the rifles of the old west, the sturdy trigger guard acts as the rifle’s cocking lever. Simply rotate the lever 45 degrees to cock the rifle. Follow-up shots are quick and easy, thanks to the S/Roto Index Magazine. Each of the 2 included magazines can hold up to 14 pellets. A single-shot tray is also included for those who might want to precision-load pellets individually. The Vectis is available in.177, .22, and .25 caliber.

Although lightweight and affordable, the Vectis is not without Hatsan’s hallmark features such as a precision-rifled and choked barrel to ensure accuracy and dependability. The Vectis also sports Hatsan’s Quattro Trigger. The Quattro Trigger is a fully-adjustable 2-stage match style trigger – designed for both hunters and target shooters alike. A color-coded pressure gauge is integrated and viewable from beneath the rifle for easy fill pressure monitoring. The removable flip-up sights are infused with TruGlo fiber optics, and the rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation.

The Vectis is configured to accommodate all shooters. The ambidextrous, all-weather, synthetic stock sports a Monte Carlo cheek rest and is built to last. This ergonomic thumbhole grip allows the lever-action to be cycled with minimal motion, so the shooter’s eyes can stay on target. A Picatinny accessory rail mounted beneath the forend permits shooters to add their favorite accessory and give the rifle a customized look and feel. Although this airgun produces very little recoil, it features a soft, ventilated, rubber butt pad for added comfort for all types of shooters.

Both BB and airsoft models will be available in all black and black frame/silver slide finishes starting in spring 2019.

The XD(M)® series of pistols, available in 8 different configurations, will be available in spring 2019, and will be a hit with airgunners, replica enthusiasts and airsoft fans alike.”

“With the 2019 release of the M1 Carbine and XD(M)® officially licensed replicas, this marks Springfield Armory’s first chapter in the airgun and airsoft industry,” stated Steve McKelvain, Springfield Armory® President. “This is the first of many replica rifles and pistols that will solidify both Air Venturi and Springfield Armory’s place in the progression of quality airguns and airsoft guns.”

Pyramyd Air Partners with Digital Wave Corporation to Offer Life Extended SCBA Air Cylinders For PCP Airgunners

    Sunday, June 24th, 2018

Exclusively available on Pyramyd Air, LE Tanks will provide up to 14 years usable life; $200 savings over new carbon fiber fill sources

Cleveland, Ohio (June 11, 2018) Pyramyd Air, the world’s largest internet airgun retailer in conjunction with Digital Wave Corporation, a leading authority of modal acoustic testing, is pleased to announce the release of Life Extended SCBA tanks for use with precharged pneumatic airguns. Using groundbreaking technology, each expired tank is rigorously tested and restored to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, extending each tank’s usable life, providing years of dependable service, and presenting a low-cost gateway for PCP airgunning.

“This is very exciting news for PCP airgun owners and those who are thinking about getting into precharged pneumatics.” says Val Gamerman, President of Pyramyd Air. “In the last few years, PCPs have come down in price, but the cost of fill sources has remained high. This exclusive partnership means that airgunners can now purchase higher capacity carbon fiber tanks for less than the cost of smaller systems and save up to $200 on some models.”

Using end-of-life tanks collected from fire departments across the country, Digital Wave subjects each tank to a series of demanding tests that include a visual inspection, ultrasonic cleaning, and Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) tests to reveal any compromise in the cylinder. Once passed, end-of-life cylinders are given a new expiration date and a new life in the hands of PCP airgunners.

Mark E. Anderson of Digital Wave Corporation said of the collaboration, “Being an avid air gun enthusiast myself, I knew that buying a brand-new carbon fiber cylinder was an expensive purchase. Digital Wave is excited to work with Pyramyd Air to give airgunners a new cost-effective carbon fiber pressure vessel alternative via the Air Venturi LE cylinders”.

Life Extended Air Venturi cylinders are currently available on Pyramyd Air in 30 minute (45 cu ft), 45 minute (66 cu ft) and 60 minute (88 cu ft) options that include new DIN 300 valves and fill hoses with female quick disconnect couplings. Assorted sized tanks, with up to 14 years life remaining are available for purchase immediately on PyramydAir.com. Additional resources are available on PyramydAir.com for those looking to learn more about MAE testing and Life Extended tanks.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Approves Big Bore Airgun Hunting

    Sunday, May 20th, 2018

LITTLE ROCK, AR (May 18th, 2018)– The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission has unanimously passed new general hunting regulations that allow the use of big bore air rifles for harvesting whitetail deer during modern gun season. This rule change, effective immediately for the upcoming hunting season, will allow pre-charged pneumatic airguns .40 caliber and larger which produce muzzle energy greater than 400 foot-pounds to be used in hunting whitetail deer. Additionally, the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission requires that the projectile used in these big bore air rifles be capable of expansion upon impact with its target.

While most states do allow hunting of small game with air rifles, Arkansas is the 10th state that has approved the use of big bore air rifles for hunting big game species.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s research, study and proactive approach regarding the allowance of highly effective big bore air rifles for hunting Arkansas whitetail.” said Richard Turner, President of Umarex USA. “The timing is perfect for the introduction of the .50 caliber Umarex Hammer which we’re making at our facility in Fort Smith, Arkansas”

The world’s most powerful production air rifle, the Umarex Hammer, is being made by airgun manufacturer, Umarex USA, based in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This pre-charged pneumatic air rifle generates up to 705 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle and has been used on hunts for several large deer species including red stag, fallow, and axis buck. The .50 caliber Hammer has also been used to harvest an American bison, Canadian black bear, wild hog, African simitar oryx and wildebeest.

Umarex developed the .50 caliber Hammer to offer hunters an alternative to firearms and archery for the safe and humane harvesting of big game species. The Hammer allows hunters a quieter experience when compared to either primitive or modern rifle platforms. Hunters who can no longer manipulate the draw of a bow or crossbow will be able to continue hunting with the power of air!

This regulation change goes into effect immediately for the 2018 season in the state of Arkansas. Umarex USA is working in conjunction with the Airgun Sport Association and many state regulatory agencies in an effort to open big bore air rifle hunting in states where it is not currently allowed.

Twelve Open Airgun Athletes Changwon Bound after Rifle/Pistol Spring Selection

    Thursday, March 29th, 2018

FORT BENNING, Georgia (March 29, 2018) — Twelve open airgun athletes will compete for Team USA at the 2018 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championships later this summer after winning an intense two-part selection match that was finalized today at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) in Fort Benning, Georgia.

Athletes began their quest during the 2017 Winter Airgun Championships and solidified their standing today at the Rifle/Pistol Spring Selection Match following a two-day match and Final. Team spots were handed out to the top-three finishers in Men’s and Women’s Air Rifle and Pistol. The World Championships will take place August 31-September in Changwon, South Korea.

Four Olympians earned their spots on the team including Nick Mowrer (Butte, Montana), Keith Sanderson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and Sandra Uptagrafft (Phenix City, Alabama) in Air Pistol along with Lucas Kozeniesky (Fairfax, Virginia) in Men’s Air Rifle.

Of note, all today’s Finals winners across the four Open events were 18 or younger in a great showcase of USA Shooting’s future promise.

The 2012 Olympian Mowrer was dominant across the two matches winning by 28 points in Men’s Air Pistol. Surprisingly, this talented multi-discipline shooter makes his first World Championship after more than eight years on the international competition circuit. James Hall (Anniston, Alabama) earned the second spot in Men’s Air Rifle and makes his first World Championship Team, despite shooting 22 points lower over his two qualification matches at Spring Selection than he did at Winter Airgun.

Making his third World Championship Team where he’ll be competing in his fifth pistol discipline is the three-time Olympian Sanderson. The 43-year-old is the reigning World Cup Finals champion and USA Shooting’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Another notable performance was 18-year-old Jack Leverett’s (Bainbridge, Georgia) Spring match as he finished second overall and was just four points behind Sanderson for open team consideration. He showed he’s in prime form as the 2018 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championship (NJOSC) are next month and will serve as the Junior selection match for World Championships. Challenging him there will be another 18-year-old in Kyler Swisher (Jonestown, Pennsylvania), who was today’s Finals winner.

The game has changed in Women’s Air Pistol with an additional 20 shots added to qualification, but that didn’t seem to faze Alexis Lagan (Boulder City, Nevada) as she defeated the field by 10 points this match and 18 points overall for World Champs selection. She’ll compete in her first World Championships later this summer.

“With the recent change in Women’s Air Pistol, I think this match was challenging, but also new and exciting,” Lagan said after the match. “We all learned a little something and will be able to work on it as we prepare for Korea. There is a lot of potential on our team, and I cannot wait to see it blossom at the World Championships.”

Joining her will be the 2012 Olympian Uptagrafft while 17-year-old Sarah Choe (Los Angeles, California) continues to show maturity beyond her years in earning her selection as well. She would put the exclamation point on her proud moment with a Finals win earlier this afternoon.

Air Force Academy sophomore Logan Ogden (Galway, New York) is the top overall finisher for World Champs selection in Men’s Air Rifle, narrowly defeating Dempster Christenson (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) by .3 points. Earning the third spot is 2016 Olympian Lucas Kozeniesky (Fairfax, Virginia). Ogden will compete in his first World Championship while Christenson readies for his third straight opportunity with Kozeniesky competing as a junior back in 2014.

Today’s notable performance came from 16-year-old Will Shaner (Colorado Springs, Colorado), who earned the Finals win in Men’s Air Rifle.

In Women’s Air Rifle, Mindy Miles (Weatherford, Texas) is putting the finishing touches on a great collegiate career at Texas Christian University and made that much sweeter today with her top overall selection. She edged fellow TCU alum Sarah Beard (Danville, Indiana) by 9.7 points with Ali Weisz (Belgrade, Montana) earning the final selection spot. Miles will compete in her second World Championship after making the junior final in 2014, finishing eighth. Beard is headed to her third straight World Championship and knows what being on the podium there feels like after earning a prone silver medal in 2010 as a junior.

Reigning Olympic gold medalist Ginny Thrasher (Springfield, Virginia) finished fourth overall for World Champs selection, just .3 points behind Weisz.

Emily Stith (Jacksonville, Florida) was today’s Finals winner in the event and finished third in the Spring Selection Match. This is an impressive performance after spending much of the last few months in Army basic training, forcing to miss Winter Airgun, and just getting assigned to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit earlier this week.

These athletes join the 24 shotgun athletes that earned their selection to the World Champs Team last weekend in Tucson, Arizona during the Shotgun Spring Selection Match. Read what shotgun athletes are Changwon bound as well in Skeet and Trap.

    RESULTS: http://bit.ly/2usBG28
The Spring Selection Match continues Friday with the start of the smallbore (.22 caliber) events in both disciplines including Men’s Rapid Fire Pistol, Women’s Sport Pistol and Three-Position Rifle for both men and women. Another 12 athletes will earn their way onto the team with results carried over from the 2017 Rifle/Pistol Fall Selection Match. Get those results here . . .
