SOAR: Ride Along With The World’s Most Accomplished And Secretive Special Ops Aviation Unit

    Friday, December 28th, 2018

Parker, CO, December 18, 2018—There are few of us who have experienced what Special Operations team members have felt during a perilous and secretive mission. David Burnett has and he’s chronicled it in his powerful memoir, Making a Night Stalker.

Burnett opens up the highly secretive world of the Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), the most accomplished and secretive special ops aviation unit on the globe. The importance of teamwork and heroism are driven home to readers in taut prose that brings to life what it is like to be at the knife’s edge, knowing a moment of inattention can bring catastrophe to you and your closest comrades.

His journey starts in a conventional Army unit where he feels unfulfilled. The lack of responsibility drives him to pursue the goal of becoming an MH-47G Chinook helicopter crew chief in the world’s most secretive unit. Despite obstacles and endless training, he’s finally able to set foot on the aircraft. Achieving FMQ (Fully Mission Qualified) crew chief takes additional years of training and deployments, but after achieving the sought after role, he is honorably discharged from the military. Burnett also explores his PTSD, which drove him to alcohol. The beast was finally tamed through taking up writing, he said.

For those whose only experience of war has been through media headlines, Burnett’s book presents a vivid picture of the vaunted Special Operations Aviation unit and the toll it takes on its members.

Author David Burnett was born and raised in Parker, Colorado. After a few semesters of college, he enlisted in the Army in 2008. He was stationed with 563rd ASB as a 15U (Chinook helicopter repairer). After realizing his job in the regular Army was not as fulfilling as he had hoped, he applied for 160th SOAR. He went through countless years of training and deployed with the unit five times before deciding he wasn’t going to reenlist. He put pen to paper after receiving an honorable discharge from the unit and began writing his story.

Mission First Tactical (MFT) Introduces the Extreme Duty 5.56 Polymer Mag

    Wednesday, November 21st, 2018

The EXDPM556 magazines are the latest addition to the MFT Magzine line-up. Over engineered for today’s modern warrior.

Horsham, Pa. (November 2018) – Mission First Tactical, LLC (MFT™), a leader in USA-made rifle/carbine accessories, is proud to introduce the latest addition to the MFT magazine line, the Extreme Duty 5.56 Polymer Magazine (EXDPM556). Designed for the AR15/M4 platform but allowing for use with wide range of non-AR15/M4 platforms.

Manufactured using the newest material technology and processes, the magazines with their next generation long glass fiber polymer construction offer the trifecta of perfection in structural performance; strength, durability and stiffness. The stiffness allows the magazine to maintain its integrity without additional weight with an additional benefit of top performance even at elevated temperatures. The longer length reinforcing fibers produce increased strength and prevents deformation and polymer fatigue. Additionally, the Extreme Duty 5.56 mags offer increased durability through a more efficient energy transfer between the polymer and the longer fiber filaments during an impact. A long-life USGI-Spec stainless steel spring is corrosion resistant. The four-way, anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower keeps the rounds aligned and makes mag feeding consistent and reliable, while virtually eliminating jambs.

Confidence in handling the new Extreme Duty 5.56 mags is a piece of cake, even during weather or duress. The front and rear of the gripping surface is ribbed for a positive grip, even with gloves. An oversized bolt-catch provides enhanced reliability of the bolt-catch operation. The flared floor plate allows for an easier grip in handling and extraction and one-hand reloads. Wrapping up the multiple benefits to the newest addition to the MFT magazine line is a paint dox matrix to allow for easy marking and identification of magazines and the tool-less disassembly with the double floor plate safety release tabs.

Mission First Tactical Extreme Duty 5.56 Polymer magazines are built for hard shooting and extreme treatment and shooting conditions and come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Extreme Duty 5.56 Polymer Mag Specs:

HOTSHOTS 2019 calendar pays tribute to Playboy Magazine founder in Edgar Brothers’ erotic blast from the past

    Tuesday, November 13th, 2018

Glamour girls with guns pictured in a variety of retro-style classic Playboy poses make the HOTSHOTS 2019 calendar a sexy blast from the past! Now in its 12th year, the annual production features some of the most desirable models in the UK and the latest military kit distributed by Edgar Brothers in a vintage shoot.

The brainchild of UK-based Edgar Brothers’ Police and Military division, HOTSHOTS has already raised nearly £150,000 for various Wounded Soldiers charities in the UK and United States since launching in 2008.

The 2019 edition, which was shot in Salt Lake City, features exposed tan lines and sexy swimwear from the sixties and seventies in a Hugh Hefner multicam theme. The renowned founder father and editor-in-chief of Playboy Magazine died in September 2017.

Stunning Lucie-Rose Donlan, a 20-year-old professional model and sponsored surfer from Cornwall, is this year’s cover girl. She is particularly proud to be featuring in HOTSHOTS for the first time due to her family’s military connection.

She said: “It means so much to be a HOTSHOTS girl. I’ve always admired the calendar and feel very honoured to model and get the front cover. It’s really special for me to be supporting Wounded Veterans as my dad served in the military for many years before taking early retirement due to injury, and my cousin is currently serving. I desperately wanted to be part of the calendar so that I could feel that I’m helping, in some way, to support such an amazing cause.”

UK-based Rosie Danvers, Katya Sanchez and Sabine Jemeljanova also feature for the first time, while Hotshots favourites Kelly Hall, Stephanie Pietz, Kayla Cadorna and India Reynolds star again in vintage poses.

Mike Newman, Director of Edgar Brothers’ Police and Military Division, said: “Every year we strive to improve on the previous year’s calendar and 2019 is no exception. The Hugh Heffner theme is simply great fun and a tip of the hat to a icon that achieved so much. The girls loved the retro-style shoot in Salt Lake City and are proud to be lending their support to a very worthy cause.”

HOTSHOTS 2019 can be delivered globally and you can purchase the calendar directly in the USA/CANADA – www.hotshotscalendar.com or the UK/Rest of World www.hotshotscalendar.co.uk

Peter Jackson’s Highly Anticipated WWI Documentary ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ Receives Special U.S. Release December 17 and 27, Presented By Warner Bros. Pictures and Fathom Events

    Monday, November 12th, 2018

Tickets Go on Sale November 16 for This Two-Night Theatrical Event, Featuring an Introduction From World-Renowned Filmmaker Peter Jackson and Followed by a Special Piece on the Creation of This Trailblazing Documentary

DENVER – November 12, 2018 – Fathom Events has partnered with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring Academy Award winner Peter Jackson’s poignant WWI documentary “They Shall Not Grow Old” to movie theaters across the U.S. on Monday, December 17, with an encore presentation on Thursday, December 27. The film is presented in 2D and RealD™ 3D, and tickets go on sale on Friday, November 16, at www.FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices.

Jackson recorded a special introduction to the film—which he has called his most personal—offering his perspective on why the film is important for audiences, who have never experienced WWI footage as anything but grainy black & white… and silent. In “They Shall Not Grow Old,” Jackson opens a window to the past in a way that has never been seen or heard before, noting, “Restoration is a humanizing process.” The screening will be immediately followed by special content offering firsthand insights into what went into this groundbreaking feat of research, filmmaking and storytelling.

The acclaimed documentary is an extraordinary look at the soldiers and events of the Great War, using film footage captured at the time, now presented as the world has never seen. By utilizing state-of-the-art restoration, colorization and 3D technologies, and pulling from 600 hours of BBC archival interviews, Jackson puts forth an intensely gripping, immersive and authentic experience through the eyes and voices of the British soldiers who lived it.

“We knew that partnering with Warner Bros. to bring this extraordinary documentary to U.S. audiences was essential,” said Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt. “Putting this documentary on the big screen via the Fathom network will further illuminate Peter’s work and allow moviegoers to see the impressive visual detail of the restored footage as though they were a part of that moment in time.”

Carolyn Blackwood, President and Chief Content Officer, New Line Cinema and executive producer on “The Hobbit” Trilogy stated, “This documentary is simply special on every level – it is an arresting and gripping way to humanize and honor those who served so bravely during WWI by using actual footage shot at the time and narrated with the voices of the soldiers who experienced it. Leave it to Peter to come up with a groundbreaking way to reflect back on a period in history that deserves another look.”

Jeff Goldstein, President of Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, said, “With this being the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, I can’t imagine a more appropriate time to honor the courage of the soldiers who fought in WWI – what was then ‘the war to end all wars’ – many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Peter has made history come alive through the medium of film, and we are so pleased to be a part of bringing his vision to today’s audiences.”

The Deluxe Engraved Edition is available in .223 Rem/5.56 NATO (H014D-223), .243 Win (H014D-243), and .308 Win (H014D-308) with an MSR price of $1,850.

As an expansion to Henry’s line of premium break action single shot rifles and shotguns, both .30-30 Win and .357 Magnum are now available. Single shot rifles are often sought out for their dependable simplicity, lighter weight, or the challenge that they provide to hunters who value the more methodical approach required when only one shot is readily available at any given time. The .357 Magnum version, which can also shoot .38 Special ammunition comes in either a blued steel receiver (H015-357) or a hardened brass receiver (H015B-357). The .30-30 Win rifle is only available with a blued steel receiver (H015-3030). The MSR price for the brass .357 Magnum rifle is $576, and the MSR price for both steel versions is $448.
