With Venture Bros. Season 6 slated for an early February 2016 release, a trailer for the upcoming season has surfaced on the interwebs. The Venture family is moving to New York to take over Jonas Venture Jr.’s company after his untimely death, and it also looks like there’s going to be a lot more parodies of Marvel properties, especially considering the greater focus on Spider-Man expy Brown Widow, and the seemingly crossdressing Captain America expy as well.
In any case, I can’t wait!
Yup, they’re rebooting MacGyver, or at least attempting to, with a pilot having been ordered by CBS. My hope in this matter is it’ll be Space MacGyver:
To promote their show ‘Vikings’ at San Diego Comic-Con, History channel has set up a “Bludgeon Booth” at the convention.
In the Bludgeon Booth, attendees get dressed up in Viking garb, choose their weapon, and, with all the strength and battle rage they can muster, slam the weapon down on a platform, upon which an attendant sprays them with red, sugary blood. This entire event is recorded in slow motion, mixed with footage from the show, and emailed to the attendee to do with as they wish. The above video is my own run through the booth; it was a lot of fun!
What do attendees get for participating in the Bludgeoning Box, aside from the satisfaction of being coated in fake blood? A Vikings comic book, and a Vikings-branded drinking horn, which also allows the owner discounts on beer at select bars in the gaslamp district.
Easily one of the best booths at this year’s SDCC. Makes ya want to buy some appropriately themed Nordic warrior shirts, some armor to go over ’em, and an ax to split heads.
Dinosaur World Wide is handling the merchandise for Danger 5, including t-shirts, posters, lobby cards, and more. For those who are unaware, Danger 5 is a parody of the spy genre which stars an international team of special operatives who’s primary goal is to kill Hitler, and disrupt Nazi efforts in the process. The first season was a 60’s take on WWII. The second season is more Cold War-inspired, although, as always, the team’s main goal is to kill Hitler.
The buzz on the soon-to-be-released ‘Daredevil’ Netflix series has been pretty positive. Plus, it’ll on Netflix, so you’ll be able to watch the entire run in one sitting (if you’d like). It comes out April 10th.
A reboot of ‘Thunderbirds’ with special effects by WETA? Sign me up! Too bad the characters aren’t more reminiscent of the original ‘supermarionation’ style, but the live-action sets are on point. Plus, it still beats the pants off of that crappy ‘Thunderbirds’ movie released back in ’04.
‘Thunderbirds Are Go!’ debuts on April 5th in the UK, and April 12th in Australia, with no word on a US release (yet).
The Christmas Day episode of BBC 2’s James May’s Toy Stories featured Action Man. For those of you unfamiliar with Action Man, he was the British version of GI Joe. Here is the trailer.

In case you missed it, AdultSwim.com is still hosting the Venture Bros. ‘All This and Gargantua-2’ special, including the epilogue which wasn’t included in the original broadcast, for free. Not only is it a full hour long (well, 50-ish minutes), but it sets up Season 6 in a majorly huge way.

I’m far from adverse when it comes to sharing Adult Swim programming on this website, although this one might be a bit ‘out of left field’. Just remember when watching it:
1) It’s extremely surrealist humor
2) You’re doing yourself no favor if you don’t watch the whole thing
3) If you have to skip ahead, it picks up around the 4 minute mark
It’s not quite Venture Bros., but it has a somewhat similar feel, given that it’s a parody of various Hanna-Barbera properties, principally Scooby-Doo. Plus, Norm Macdonald as an alcoholic pigeon just feels… right.

Great synopsis, huh? You know you have to see the second season, which reportedly will begin airing next month.
In true teaser fashion all we get is a few flashes of some backgrounds, the promise of a Gargantua-2 special later this year, and…. oh, yeah, a mysterious new man clad all in blue who’s been bumping off members of the Guild of Calamitous Intent. Who could it possibly be?
Halo: Nightfall is the upcoming Ridley Scott produced live action series based in the Halo universe. As you can see in the above image, members of the Colonial Guard forces in the series are wearing HELIKON-TEX CPUs (Combat Patrol Uniform) in PenCott BadLands camouflage.

This video combines two of my favorite entertainment forces, Batman and Dethklok, into a fusion of metal and vigilantism. Fair warning, it’s a bit weird.
GOTHAM is the upcoming series which stars Ben McKenzie as a young Jim Gordon working as a cop in Gotham City, also doubling as an origin story for Batman and many of his most famous villians. If this trailer is any indication, they’re being very liberal with many of Batman’s eventual rogues gallery, given many of them seem to be adults when Bruce Wayne himself is only a child.
On this week’s Lone Target, Joel Lambert was using the hidden document pocket on the 5.11 Long Sleeve Pro Shirt to stow his map. The RUSH 24 and MOAB 10 packs were also worn the entire show, as were a pair of (potential knockoff) 5.11 gloves.

Long story short: Adam Reed (the sole writer of Archer) got bored with the spy premise, so now the crew at ISIS is attempting to sell 2000 lbs. of cocaine through the course of season 5. Sounds like a radical departure, doesn’t it?
The Star Wars Holiday Special by FilmGeek-TV
Behold the craptasticness that is the Star Wars Holiday Special, complete with the commercials it originally aired with. So bad, it’s still pretty damn bad.
Remember, Lucas, this came out in the late 70s. If you were going to wipe it off the face of the Earth, you missed your chance ages ago – the internet never forgets.
The latest Archer ISIS orientation video has been released. Only one month to go before this series is back on tv!
In case you haven’t heard, the NFL recently denied a commercial by Georgia-based firearms manufacturer Daniel Defense to be played during the 2014 Super Bowl XLVIII on FOX, on the grounds that it violates the firearms portion of the NFL’s Prohibited Advertising Categories:
“5. Firearms, ammunition or other weapons are prohibited; however, stores that sell firearms and ammunitions (e.g., outdoor stores and camping stores) will be permitted, provided they sell other products and the ads do not mention firearms, ammunition or other weapons.”
The commercial, which can be seen above, doesn’t technically violate the NFL’s policy, with (arguable) exception to the DDM4 silhouette logo at the end. Daniel Defense offered to replace the potentially offending logo with “…an American flag and/or the words “Shall not be infringed.””. The NFL countered the offer with an additional non-negotiable denial. Surprisingly, Daniel Defense had no trouble running a commercial in local Georgia markets during the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI on NBC.
