Update – NIX FX – Escape From New York Mac-10 Replica

Tuesday, July 9th, 2019

A little under a year ago, I wrote about a limited run of Escape From New York Mac-10 Replicas created by the highly-talented NIX FX. Well, the man behind NIX FX recently contacted me directly and let me know that these replicas are still on offer. The full details are below:

“NIX FX is a purveyor of high-quality, custom movie replica props, and they’re currently offering an extremely limited run of 10 of a replica of Snake’s Mac-10 from the film ‘Escape From New York’. The replica is (as expected) non-firing, and features a detachable faux suppressor with custom scope, and leather strap. It also comes with a display plaque and stand.

The price is $475, with a deposit of $225 via PayPal. Please contact NIX FX at nickanz71@gmail.com to reserve a Mac 10 Replica or if you have any questions or want additional info.”

Die Klapperschlange

Die Klapperschlange or ‘The Rattlesnake’ is the alternative title for the German release of the 1981 John Carpenter classic ‘Escape from New York’, one of my favorite films of all time. I didn’t decide to post this poster for the trivia, but to bring attention to that rather unique rifle that Snake doesn’t get to use in the film proper (his primary arm in the film, for what it’s worth, is a suppressed MAC 10 outfitted with a rifle scope). It’s a bit difficult to determine exactly what model the rifle is, although if I had to guess it looks like some kind of AR variant with a unique pistol grip and a removed hand guard.

If anybody had more of a clue what it could be feel free to let me know in the comments section.
