WTF? – Dubstep In The Red Tails TV Spot

If you’ve been watching TV recently, there’s a decent chance you’ve seen this commercial about the upcoming film ‘Red Tails’:

Pardon me if I’m wrong, but is that a dubstep “song” (the term “song” is used loosely here) playing over images of WWII fighter planes? I don’t know about you, but I had to rewind my cable (thank you, DVR!) when I first saw this just to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Don’t get me wrong, from the other trailers I’ve seen this current iteration of ‘Red Tails’ looks decent with lots of pretty special effects, but dubstep seems, I dunno, kinda out of place in a WWII movie. Well, I guess that’s what you get when the beast that spawned Episodes 1 through 3 handles the Tuskegee Airmen.

*sigh* George 'Freaking' Lucas

Red Tails releases in theaters January 20th, 2012.

God, what a hater. The song is suppose to make you inspired to go see the movie. Almost no songs that are played during movies are historically acurrate but more appealing to our generation. You basically don’t like dub step, because if you hadn’t guessed Celion Deon Pop wasn’t around during the sinking of the Titanic. Dub step is taking off. Get use to it. Check the Grammy’s nomination if you disagree.

And instead of enticing me to check out the movie, it made me want to skip it and dismiss completely. I wasn’t enough sure what the movie was suppose to be about till I looked it up.

I was trying to see who created that music for the commercial. My best guess is that its Skrillex.

Dubstep will suck just like every other “genre” of the last 25 years…..it has no depth or emotion that would relate to the gravity of what these Airmen accomplished……this younger generation has been taught to believe by their lazy parents to have an exaggerated sense of their own intelligence and understanding of things. This could have been a fantastic film about real life heros, but will unfortunately be quickly overlooked and dismissed as merely fluff for the ADHD (i.e. immature) generation that have no role models to inspire them. Very sad.
